Section 8
Rights relating to litigation and appeals:<br>
The Chief District Officer shall have the right to initiate and terminate proceedings in the following cases:
(a) A case of simple theft up to five hundred rupees,
(b) Baglimara Case,
(c)
(d) Case of cheating by using insufficient weights,
(e) The issue related to the killing of female quadrupeds, except in the place of deities that have passed away (2) The decision of the Chief District Officer who has been fined a maximum of five hundred rupees in the case of an offense under sub-section (1) shall be final and there shall be no appeal against his decision. In cases where a fine of more than 500 rupees is imposed or a fine is imposed, an appeal will be taken to the district court within thirty-five days.
(3) If the Chief District Officer deems it necessary to secure the money of a woman or child in connection with the complaints brought to him, he may, with the help of the municipality or rural municipality, secure the money in the custody of a dignitary of the district or a government office.

(6) The Chief District Officer, when proceeding and settling the cases in accordance with this Act or the prevailing Nepalese law, shall also mention the law under which the proceedings and settlement of the case shall be done within the time limit according to the prevailing Nepalese law.
